I’ve fallen in love with the Birds of My Neighbourhood. This series documents the species I encounter in Ottawa, especially along the Beaver Pond trail where I walk almost every day. Each piece begins with an encounter—a sound, a sudden sighting. Sometimes I catch it on camera, other times I return to find it again. In the studio, those moments take shape as paintings or drawings, each one a way of revisiting the experience and slipping into another world.
